    What a Complete Powder System Can Include

    The final configuration is selected after the upstream package type, ingredient ranges, downstream destination and operating sequence are defined.

    Material Receiving and Storage

    Manual bag dumping, bulk-bag unloading, silo discharge, buffer hoppers and dust-controlled transfer points configured for the incoming material format.

    Feeding, Dosing and Weighing

    Major and minor ingredients are separated by dosing range and material behavior. Screw, belt, rotary or other feeders are selected around flowability, accuracy target and refill strategy.

    Mixing and Conditioning

    The mixer is selected for the material and required process result. Liquid addition or other conditioning stages require a separately defined process scope and supporting trials where necessary.

    Discharge, Conveying and Control

    Finished batches can discharge to buffer storage, packaging, compaction or another process. Interlocks, recipe control, alarms and batch records are defined for the agreed operating scope.

    Accuracy is application-specific. Target tolerance should be confirmed after ingredient ranges, feeder turndown, refill behavior, vibration, installation conditions and representative material trials are reviewed.

    Equipment Interfaces

    Weighing Is a Separate Function from Mixing

    A mixer blends the ingredients; it does not establish the quantity of each ingredient by itself. In a weigh-hopper arrangement, the feeder delivers powder to a separate hopper supported by weighing sensors. The weighed batch is then released into the mixer. The weighing range, discharge arrangement and connection to the mixer must be specified together.

    Select the mixer for the actual blend or conditioning duty. Confirm its inlet, usable batch volume and discharge interface separately from the weighing system.

    Define extraction connections at receiving and transfer points and clarify whether the project uses an existing plant system or requires a dedicated dust-collection package.

    New batch line

    Specify receiving, storage, weighing, mixing and discharge as connected operations. Identify who supplies the steelwork, extraction, utilities and controls.

    Upgrade around an existing mixer

    Provide the current mixer drawing, working volume, inlet and discharge details, available headroom and control interfaces. Compatibility must be reviewed before a dosing package is selected.

    Powder Dosing and Mixing FAQ

    What information is required for an initial configuration?

    Provide the ingredient list, bulk density and available flow data, recipe ranges, target batch size or hourly output, tolerance requirements, incoming package type, downstream destination, cleaning needs, layout and utilities.

    Should minor ingredients use the same weighing system as major powders?

    Not always. If the quantity range is too wide, minor ingredients may need a smaller dedicated weighing range, separate addition point or operator-confirmation step.

    Can an existing mixer be connected to a new dosing system?

    Yes, after the mixer inlet, usable volume, filling sequence, venting, discharge time, controls and structural interfaces are checked. Integration scope should be documented before equipment selection.

    How is dust controlled without disturbing weighing?

    Capture points and airflow are coordinated with the plant extraction system. Excessive airflow can remove fine product or influence weighing, while insufficient capture can create operator exposure and housekeeping problems.

    Can the system be designed for hazardous or combustible dust?

    The material hazard, area classification and required regional standard must be identified during engineering. Protection concepts and components are then defined for the project; certification should never be assumed from a generic layout.

    How do you determine the real production rate?

    We calculate accepted material per batch against the complete cycle: refill, dosing, verification, transfer, mixing, discharge, downstream acceptance and any cleaning or reset time.
