Connecting Ingredient Storage, Transfer and Mixing

A multi-ingredient powder line needs a defined path from each ingredient store to the mixer and from the mixer to the next process. This application reference explains those interfaces using company-supplied powder-line photographs and a simplified process sequence.

The photographs below are equipment-layout references from our material archive. They are not presented as separate customer projects or as evidence of a particular capacity, dosing tolerance or commissioning result. The process sequence is illustrative, not a construction drawing.

Keep Material Transfer and Weight Confirmation Distinct

  2. 2. Feed and weighMove material through the selected feeder and confirm the required quantity using the specified weighing arrangement.
  3. 3. Transfer and mixCoordinate the transfer to the mixer with inlet availability and the agreed batch sequence.
  4. 4. Discharge and resetConfirm the downstream destination can receive the batch before the next operating cycle.

A conveyor moves material; a mixer blends it. Neither function alone establishes ingredient weight. A separate weigh hopper with sensors is one arrangement described in Zhongke's equipment documentation. Its installation and connections must be reviewed as part of the line, rather than inferred from the mixer photograph.

Four Interfaces to Resolve Before a Layout Is Agreed

Ingredient entry

Which materials arrive in bags, bulk bags or bulk supply? How many ingredients need independent storage, and where will operators load them?

Review feeding and bag-emptying options

Transfer route

Provide the horizontal distance, elevation change and available space. Show where transfer equipment must connect to existing plant equipment.

Review conveying interfaces

Mixing and discharge

Define the batch size and intended process result. For a retained mixer, provide inlet, outlet, working-volume and access information instead of selecting new equipment by appearance.

Review mixing equipment

Containment and controls

Identify plant extraction connections, utilities and who supplies each control interface. Operating modes, alarms and batch information belong in the agreed scope.

Questions This Reference Helps You Resolve

Can this arrangement be copied directly into our plant?

No. Start with the material list, recipe ranges, available space and existing equipment. The photographs help explain interfaces; they do not define a standard layout for every application.

Does the mixer shown also weigh the ingredients?

A mixer should not be described as a weighing system unless the specified installation includes that function. Confirm the actual weighing device and its relationship to the feeder and mixer.

Can we keep our current mixer?

An engineering review can assess that option. Provide its drawings, working volume, inlet and discharge arrangement, available headroom and controls. Compatibility is not assumed.

What can these photographs tell us about output and accuracy?

They show equipment and spatial relationships, not measured performance. Required output and dosing tolerances must be stated separately and checked against the proposed operating sequence and material behavior.

Is every visible bin necessarily a separate weighing station?

No. Storage, receiving and weighing are different duties. The process drawing and equipment specification must identify which function each vessel performs.

What should we send for a first discussion?

Send ingredient names and quantity ranges, available material data, target batch size, output requirement, incoming supply format, site dimensions and the downstream destination. The powder process planning guide provides further preparation questions.
