Can you handle our existing steel plant bins?
Yes. A line can be designed beneath existing bins after the material route and tie-in points are reviewed.
Industries / Steel and metallurgy
Steel and metallurgical processes handle dust, additives, mineral powders and slag. We engineer handling, dosing and mixing systems around the material and process you specify.

A reliable line starts with controlling each material transfer, from receiving to the point of use.
We map the material route, then select feeding, conveying, dosing and dust control around the process. We can design a complete line or add equipment beneath existing bins, with PLC or DCS control and site or remote commissioning.
Materials and what makes them hard
| Material | The problem | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Steel plant dust | Fine powders can escape during unloading and transfer, creating housekeeping and dust-control demands. | Use an enclosed bulk bag unloading station with a 2 t electric hoist and back-mounted dust collector, then feed a pulse-jet baghouse with PTFE membrane filters designed for outlet dust below 10 mg/Nm³. |
| Additives and auxiliary materials | Different ingredients may need controlled proportions and repeatable batch handling. | A weighing hopper, load cells, liquid scales where needed, and PLC recipes with batch records can be designed to the process requirements. |
| Mineral powders | Powder flow and transfer routes vary with the material and plant layout. | Select screw conveyors, bucket elevators, vacuum conveying or belt conveyors to suit the route; screw conveyors can be designed for inclines above 40°. |
| Metallurgical slag | Lumps and variable feed conditions may call for size reduction before downstream handling. | A line can incorporate a supplied hammer crusher or roll crusher, followed by conveying and dust collection selected for the process. |
Equipment
An enclosed bulk bag unloading station supports controlled unloading of bagged powders into a process line.
Crushing can reduce oversized or agglomerated feed before conveying or further processing.
A selected conveyor route moves powders and bulk solids between receiving, storage and process equipment.
Weighing and PLC recipe control help feed multiple ingredients to the specified batch proportions.
Dust collection captures airborne powder at unloading and transfer points.

Our experience
In 2024, ZKSJECO supplied a bulk bag unloading system for a steel plant in Sichuan. The project record supports this steel-sector application; other line details are developed for each site's material and process requirements.
