Shredders and crushers

Three jobs, three different machines: shredding bulky or packaged material, breaking caked lumps as they leave a bulk bag, and crushing cured blocks that failed their test so they can be mixed again.

A lump the size of a fist is enough to block a screw or a valve.

Packaged and bulky material has to be opened up first. Fly ash in bulk bags often arrives caked, and a stabilization plant always has some cured product that fails its test. All of it has to be broken down before it can move on. We match the machine to the lumps, the rate and whatever it feeds.

Three machines

Each one for its own job

  • 01

    Twin-shaft shredder

Low speed and high torque, two counter-rotating cutter shafts. For bulky or packaged material, before it is crushed, conveyed or mixed. Built in our workshop, where we have made many of them.

Sized to the material and the rate
  • 02

Lump breaker under a bulk bag

Roll type, fitted between the bag hopper and a second buffer hopper so caked ash can't jam the outlet. Supplied with the bag unloading line.

    Example: roll type · 2 t/h · output ≤ 10 mm
  • 03

    Crusher for rejects and slag

For stabilized blocks that fail their curing test, large slag lumps and lumpy hazardous waste, crushed fine enough to go back into the mixer. Hammers and grate bars are made from selected wear-resistant materials, and the drive has a protection circuit. Supplied as part of a line.

    Output < 9 mm

Two usual places

After a bulk bag

  1. Bulk bag
  2. enclosed emptying
  3. lump breaker
  4. buffer hopper
  5. variable-rate feeder
  6. weighing screw

Lumps are broken straight after the bag is emptied, so the feeding and weighing downstream stay steady.

After curing

  1. Mixer
  2. forming and curing
  3. test
  4. passes: to landfill; fails: crushed and back to the mixer

Blocks that fail don't have to leave the site. They are crushed, re-dosed and mixed again.

Questions buyers ask

FAQ

Do I need a shredder or a crusher?

A twin-shaft shredder opens up bulky or packaged material at low speed and high torque. A lump breaker breaks caked powder as it leaves a bulk bag. A hammer crusher reduces hard rejects and slag. Tell us the material and the lumps, and we match the machine.

How fine is the output?

It is set by what comes next. Examples from our lines: a roll lump breaker at 2 t/h with output of 10 mm or less, and a reject crusher with output below 9 mm.

Can blocks that fail the curing test be reused?

Yes. They are crushed fine enough to go back into the mixer, re-dosed and mixed again, so they don’t have to leave the site.

Do you build the shredders yourselves?

Twin-shaft shredders are built in our workshop. Lump breakers and hammer crushers are supplied as part of a line.

Can you shred combustible material?

Not without an explosion-risk assessment first.

What warranty and after-sales service do you give?

A 12-month warranty on manufacturing faults, spare parts in stock for the life of the machine, 24-hour technical support, and engineers who supervise installation, commission the equipment and train your staff on site.
